Grožnjan is a little town situated on the top of a hill in the green hart of Istria. It overlooks the river "Mirna" from the top of his medieval walls. the panorama starts from Motovun, along the river Mirna, down to the sea and teh city of Novigrad.
One of the best characteristics of this town is the incredible conservation of the medieval town center. The charatteristical stone-streets gives it a suggesting and romantic atmosphere.
In this small town a lot of gallerys (there are about 30 gallerys on 400 abitantants) found the perfect place to expouse thear beauty. One of those is the official city gallery: Fonticus, with a thick program of individual and collective exhibitions.
Grožnjan is kown from the 1965 as "The city of artists", merit of the frequent cultural manifestations like Ex tempore, Jazz festival and classical music concerts.
